I had one on the back of my hand about 25 years ago. I hit it with a table tennis bat, and it dispersed, never to return.

My Doctor told me to whack it with a book!
Said it was as good as anything.

I had one about 20 years ago. Dr tried dropping a medical book on it, but it didn't work. Decided to go private after that! Consultant was loathe to remove it, as it was right on the crease on my wrist and he was concerned any scar would limit the use of my wrist. Anyway, got sent away for six months and told to go back if it was still causing me problems. He would then remove it. In the interim I saw that psychic who sat Fergie under the green pyramid thing and she did a healing on it. It was gone within a week! AL

I have had two removed from my wrist, the op's were simple but I do have a rather large scar there now.
I had them done 20 years ago and scar is still evident, had I known I would have left alone.

Hi selena
I see heaps of people have told you about the book treatment.
its tried and true, and not just an old wives tale.
many docs still do it
Why dont you find a heavy book and give yours a good couple of whacks.
Then if its gone by the time you get up the waiting list great and if it hasnt you can still have the surgery

Definately not going to hit it! I will let you know the outcome though when I have the op. And whether I wished I had hit it, despite all your advice :) then you can say I told you so.

Had one on my left wrist which was pressing on a nerve and caused a lot of pain.

Doctor tried the book treatment and it didn't work and then opted to try a cortisone injection to see if that would disperse it - it only made it worse and left me in agony.

I booked in reluctantly for an operation but it dispersed itself before the date (I knocked it by accident - thank goodness).

I have relatives who have had the operation. Relatively simple proceedure but in both cases it cam back again within a few years.

Thanks Karen, my lump is rock hard like a bone. I'm sure it would have to be a really big whack for it to go down.
