Please Janet. Henry William Snelling, 35/38, born Clerkenwell. Somewhere in London I believe. In 1881 found with his wife Emily. By 1901 he is with a Jane Snelling and four children. No remarriage found and his wife Emily found on her own in 1901. Many thanks,.

Jan Thanks once again. You've done enough for me and I am very grateful, but you might be interested in the puzzle. Hannah Jane Harris seems to be a will of the wisp, along with her father Charles. However, along with the few certificates handed down to me, there is one for the birth of Jane Macey on 9/11/1871. Her mother is Elizabeth Macey, formerly Crawley. Her father is Charles. But, and here's the strange thing, the address is 4 Middle Street, where Charles Harris, his wife Jane and daughter Jane lived in 1881 and 1891 (excluding the deceased wife in 1891). If it wasn't for the fact that the wife's name was different, I would have been tempted to surmise that the Maceys changed their name to Harris ! And in 1892 on the marriage certificate, Charles Harris's profession was brickmaker, whereas in 1891 it was Mangler. So your 1891 data has laid that theory to rest. So thanks again Regards Brian

Hi Janet Could you see if there are any Porters living at 76 New Church Street, Bermondsey. It could be under Church Street New. They were there in 1889. I am trying to find William James Porter. Also I am looking for Charles Glover Simpson b 1833 Bethnal Green. Mary Martha Simpson b 1838 Clapham. But living in Bermondsey also. Thanks Shirley
