Not sure if this is available yet - but if anyone could help - I am looking for John Joseph Blackie b1849 in Gateshead Durham. I have him in 1881 & 1891 married to Rosanna b1850 living in Gateshead area with several children Many thanks Clare |

Esta - I really can't confirm this but their eldest daughter was born in 1871 her name was Isabella Clare |

it's a long shot but I found this John Blackey 22 Durham, Durham, England Son-in-law St Giles Durham the other family name is Watson, could this have been her maiden name? |

Clare I can't even find him on the 1881. The only one I can see is John and Rosanna Blackey and their children living in Wallsend. Is that them? If so that's Northumberland as it's over the Tyne. Andrea |

Andrea - yes that's them living at 5 Shiney Row, Wallsend - not familiar with that area at all - is it miles away from Gateshead where they were in 1891?? Clare |

Actually, perhaps that wasn't her unless they've both given her name? Hannah Black 21 Durham, England Wife Gateshead Durham Isab Black 4 months Felling, Durham, England Daughter Gateshead Durham John Black 22 Newcastle Head Gateshead Durham They are living at 49 Eldon Street, Gateshead in the District of St James. Hi Clare This is the family for the ref number's Esta gave you for the 1871 census George Watson Head age 39 Mary Watson, Wife age 42 George Watson, Son, age 10 Elizabeth Watson, Dau, age 7 John Blackey , Son In Law, age 22 Hannah Blackey, Dau, age 20 Looks Like Hannah and her mum Mary were born in Hull Chris |

Clare It wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility for John and Rosanna to think that they were responsible for giving Isabellas details when she was staying at her grandparents who rightly gave her details too. Do you have John and Rosannas marraige cert? If so is the father the same name as on the census? Andrea |
