Can any one please look up the census records for 1841/51/61/71/81/91 and 1901. I am looking for James Upton born abt 1832, Bristol, parents were Mark Upton 1799 and Hannah 1799. Some members kindly found his brother Edward and i am now looking for James. Can anyone please also explain what the BIVRI is? Many Thanks Marcelle

I am 99% sure he was born Bristol. I know Bristol came under Gloucester and it was either Bristol or Winterbourne, Glos, Thanks for looking, it is appreciated The date and age do match for 51 though...mmmm

Yet 1851 says born in a different place. Clifton is in Bristol. Is that usual for the place of birth to differ in the census

Not sure if James was a butcher but a lot of the Uptons were butchers in West Street, Bristol
