Erika pointed out thst there was a local man of thst name and similar age. You have done better by contacting the Ancestry tree ‘owner’ thst gave an Ipswich death.

As well as your Reginald who was born at the end of 1906 and therefore not registered until 1907, there were three other Reginald Ernest Hill births registered actually in 1906 in England - Hastings, St Thomas, and Norwich. See FreeBMD.


Those three would all have been 55 by Jul-Sep 1961, whereas yours wouldn't have been 55 until later in the year.
That's assuming the age stated in 1921 is correct - but the age stated at death depends on what the informant believes.

However -
The one registered in Hastings died in infancy (died Dec 1906, registered 1907).
The one in Norwich also died in infancy (1906).
The one in St Thomas, Devon died in 2006-2007 (registered 2007).

The Samford (Ipswich) death may well be your Reginald - good luck!

This is the brother of Reg George Alexander Frederick Hill, in my tree, who married Joan in 1937, and went on to have three children

Unlikely he would marry another Murray? Certificates for kids would clear this up

The child would be a CLOSED entry and there are NONE with either George or Joan in 1939, where both of them are with their mothers - as I said earlier

There is NO record in England /Wales of a second marriage for him to anyone

That 1939 for George was posted on page one of this thread!

Get his death certificate for name of informant, which may - or may not - prove useful.

Joan, nee Murray, almost certainly had a child with second husband in 1947.......

In the early 1960s, before his marriage in 1967 in Lambeth, he was living with his parents at 20 Oxford Close, Mitcham.
That was still his mother's address when she died in 1994.

I can't see her in 1939 so far. Born 1906 in Hong Kong - approx February. Aged 15 years 4 months in 1921.

After his marriage, James and his wife also lived in Mitcham.
ERs list them together in Mitcham until at least 2008, and he died in Mitcham.
