I recall, as a child, my father saying Robert (Bob) Jacks was an uncle to my mother. Bob Jacks was a footballer - Manager (one team he managed was Plymouth Argyle). I am aware he was born in Alloa 4 April 1896 & wikipaedia shows he died 6 May 1943. My family are from Plymouth -I am assuming he married in Plymouth. If he was my mums uncle, I have a feeling he may have married my grandmother’s sister? My grandmothers maiden name was Witheridge. Wikaepedia shows his two children but not his spouse’s name. Can anyone help please?

Look for a marriage using freebmd…it’s a very easy site to use
He didn’t die in Plymouth……or anywhere else in England/Wales

Sounds familiar to me too, but can’t find another thread.
Added: as you have his children’s details from his Wikipedia page you can now use the GRO ( if born in England/Wales) to find the surnames of the mothers. You also should check for his marriage on Scotlands People.

1921 census posted above shows Katheleen Jack - original says she is married
David Jack married Kathleen McCormack 17/6/19919 in the district of Inishowen which is a peninsula in Co. Donegal sitting next to Londonderry (Derry)
https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/files/civil/marriage_returns/marriages_1919/09683/5511952.pdf
Looking at the original it says David was born 6.5.1898 and his Father was Robert Jack whose profession looks like retired player. Her Father was Michael McCormack, profession "Customs" andd she lived in Derry at time of marriage. Can't read where David was living nor his occupation.
David signed and it looks as though the priest wrote it as David B. N. Jack

The man may not have actually been a relation………’uncle’ could have been just a courtesy title. In those days, children did not address adults by their forenames - it wasn’t considered polite - so friends of their parents became honorary aunts and uncles.
Things have changed…..and not for the better
If you are certain that he was actually related, you’ll have to do some in-depth research of your proven antecedents. Start with your grandparents’ siblings, whose details one assumes you know. I’m surprised you haven’t already done this ;-) ;-)
