We follow the William Thomas Clark 1899 Line while Nick Follows the James Henry Clark 1893 Line.

Both brothers married two Killeen sisters from Dublin - When stating a minor do we think under 18? we were told the girls were smuggled out in an army convoy.

To find Williams and James Henrys Parents is fantastic.

Why ? This record is officially closed.

We don't know the surname of "Annie" in 1939 . Her surname ,just shown as a ditto symbol
( " ) is the same as that of the person on the line above her, but that record is closed, and therefore we can't see the surname.
But she's not a daughter of James and May.

Records are closed on the 1939 Register if the person is either still living, or was born less than 100 years ago. Or may be dead, but the Register hasn't picked up on it.

ErikaH Report 22 Feb 2024 11:50

Minors in that era were under 21

The legislation to reduce the voting age to 18 came into force in 1969

ArgyllGran Report 22 Feb 2024 11:51

Can't tell if John Edward's parents were James Henry and May V without seeing the birth cert, but it seems very likely, as he's in their household in 1939.
Relationships are not shown on the 1939 Register.

Your opening post mentioned the name May Violet, so I assume May V is her.

Good find, Greyghost!

I thought I'd looked at all the possible mis-spellings, but missed that one!

So maybe Bernard is Benjamin in 1911 Census. Maybe enumerator's mistake.

There's definitely no sign of the birth of a Benjamin with mmn Plunkett, 1903-11 in Dublin.

greyghost Report 23 Feb 2024 12:41

Thanks AG, but I missed Daniel on same page as William!!

1911 census said 8 born, 7 living. So Benjamin/ Bernard look to be the same person.

Mary - 9..3.1893
John - 22.10. 1894
Elizabeth -15.8.1896 (Lizzie, Lily)
Daniel - 28.12.1898 - born 11.45 pm (see below)
William - 28.1.1899 - transcript has this date but writing out a list shows this to be an impossibility if born 1 month after Daniel Original gives DOB as 28.12.1898 so twin to Daniel
Francis - 31.5.1901
Garrett - 17.4.1903
Bernard - 20.9.1905

Have reported the error to the site https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/

Thank you All so very Much

This is amazing and has very much identified the siblings we've been looking for.

Now I need to find any descendants :)

ArgyllGran Report 24 Feb 2024 18:53

Killeen/Sullivan births in Dublin from 1934 - probably Garrett and Ellen's children:

Elizabeth M Killeen 1935
Donal G Killeen 1939
Garrett J Killeen 1943
Anthony F Killeen 1937

Anthony Francis Killeen is on an Ancestry tree, with no supporting paperwork apart from his birth record.
The tree says he married Eileen Melia (1938-2009), and he died in 2014.
The tree shows two sons and two daughters, with their details kept private.

The tree owner is Deborah Killeen, who appears to be one of the daughters.
She hasn't been active on Ancestry for over a year.

This record is officially closed.

Only two possible younger children with them - though the closed records could be anybody, not necessarily children.

I don't see them in 1921.

Lavinia's marriage and death:

Marriages Mar 1941 (>99%)
Clark Lavinia M Thipthorpe Southend 4a 1955

THIPTHORPE, LAVINIA MAY 1920
GRO Reference: DOR Q3/2017 in DEVON (423-1G) Entry Number 516080382

Her husband Ronald Herbert Thipthorpe died in 1974.

I don't see Lavinia's birth.

Eileen's marriage and death:

Marriages Sep 1941 (>99%)
Bloyce Reggie G Clark Southend 4a 2503
Clark Eileen A E Bloyce Southend 4a 2503

BLOYCE, EILEEN ANNIE E 1922
GRO Reference: DOR Q2/1991 in SOUTHEND ON SEA (4751C) Volume 9 Page 2917 Entry Number 14

Deaths 1987
BLOYCE REGGIE CARNHAM 3JE1919 TOWER HAMLET 14 1075

If Lilian is Elizabeth (birth posted on page 1), her year of birth is wrong - 1902 instead of c1896-7, as in birth record on page 1, and Lily's age stated in 1911.

You would have to buy Mary's birth cert to see if she's William and Lilian's daughter or not.
I don't see a likely death for her , 1931 - 1939

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 25 Feb 2024 00:56

I see you have Lavinia Clark 1920 on your GR tree, Kelly, born in Dublin.

Kelly

Kelly Report 25 Feb 2024 10:36

How do you unclose a record ?
Lavinia was born in Dublin.

William Thomas Clark married Lillian Killeen and had 4 Children
Then William Thomas Clark went off with his niece Anna Elizabeth Violet Clark daughter to his brother James Henry Clark and their child / daughter was Jessica Clark ( My mother in law) As you can imagine massive rift, we are trying to find out the truth through records.
I'm wondering if that is why the records are closed
