Jill, as Anne has said, it isn't back to the drawing board. That is 99% certainly your Christina living with her paternal aunt in 1901 and listed with her aunt's surname of Lee. There was no offical adoption procedure at that time so Christina was probably known by her aunt's surname for convenience at the time but may have used her birth surname when she married.
