Find Ancestors

I am trying to find a connection between these two families... Robert Jackson Towne (married to Sarah nee Jarrett) has two young Gimlett children William and Sarah as nephew and niece and later another sibling Kate Gimlett also niece living with him. He later on death of his wife marries niece Sarah Ann Gimlett in 1885.
I am unable to see a family member who could be their parent (William 1827 father) connected to the Towne family.Robert Towne had a sister Eliza and a brother John.
Please does anyone feel able to tackle this? I am nowhere. Sonya

Could they have been Sarah's niece and nephew rather than Robert's?

But didn't he marry Sarah Joseph?

I know they were siblings of second wife Sarah Ann Gimlett...but she and her sibling William were living with Robert J Towne and his first wife Sarah (born Jarrett then married Thomas Joseph1840 who died ) married Robert 1855. The niece then married Robert when his first wife died. I want to find how their father or mother is connected to Robert Towne to make them niece and nephew.!

Either William Gimlett or Mary Gimlett is a brother or sister of Robert Towne or Mary Towne?

Just a thought. I think.....the father of william , Sarah etc ..William gimlett lost his first wife Mary when he was 24 and childless. He remarried Margaret and she is actually the mother of these children. Sorry if this is a mess. sonya

Perhaps see who Rachel Joseph married..she was daughter of Thomas Joseph prior to marriage to Sarah Jarrett...1832 I think. If she married a Gimlett that would do it. Worth a shot.

I wondered if Mary Gimlett was perhaps the sister of Robert J's first wife, Sarah. Sarah was born in Monmouthshire as were Mary, William and Sarah Ann. However, cannot find a marrisge for a William Gimlett and a Mary Jarrett
unless she was previously married..

On the 1851 census William aged 24 widowed is with father James also widowed lodging in Bedwelty. Following that marriage William marries Mary and then when she dies he marries Margaret. Kate is the daughter of William and wife Margaret. She was born in Swindon.
