My guess would be that you're right with the family you've followed on the 1861 and 1881 censuses. Even though their ages differ. Also, Mary Williams, living with her brother, John, on the 1891 looks right.

This looks like the mother in 1891:

Mary A. Williams - widow - 65 - work in fields - St. Stephens
Alfred J. Williams - grandson - 10 - St. Austell

On the 1881 census Mary Williams' sister, Louisa, is in the St. Austell District Workhouse with one week old Alfred Williams.

Christina - brill thanks. When I was trying to resist pre-empting things I did find this family straight away so I think it's right too. And Mary the widow looks good as well.

Mike - yes I think that's the GRO birth - it's the one that MC plumped for at the start of the thread when I had started out with the wrong Mary (in the marriage)

So lots of updating of tree(s) for me to now do :-)
