As there are 2 Lally families living in the same area we really need to know which is the correct one.
Who is the relative in your tree that you are following backwards?

You say that the son Thomas was born in 1886 in Jarrow but in 1911 there is a Thomas that would fit with this info but he is married to someone called Margaret Blanche?

Daughter Mary was born in Ireland and from 1841 census Margaret's maiden name is Burk, so this looks to be the birth of Mary:-

if the information on the previous thread is relevant to this search, then yes, you should have continued on the older thread ....... it just saves all the work being duplicated.

We have to get our heads around your family ................... you know them pretty well, we don't, so we have to try to get enough information to get that "instinctive" feeling for them

That's why so many of us go back and forwards with censuses and other records ....... and this is what leads to the duplication.

Referring to related thread of Thomas Lally. He can't be the son of 1911 Patrick & Margaret above as Thomas would make 9 children. He may be the son of Patrick and a previous wife as he was born in 1873.
