45 years at death in 1878 makes him born c1833. That would make him 20 years younger than Sarah. Not impossible but he's supposed to be full age at marriage in 1849. |

So, trying to narrow down the people in the above marriage index. Unfortunately 1841 doesn't give the place they were born only the county. All the women below were born in Gloucestershire. |

Yes I looked at this one too. Couldn't find William Knight in the 1851 in this area, so not impossible he moved! I have ancestors who moved the other way - from Shropshire down to Gloucestershire. |

Hmmm, the 1861 census states Sarah is "Unmarried" and yet the 1881 states she is a "Widow" |
