Find Ancestors

Hi
Can anyone help me trace what happened to Charles Wraight and his wife Sarah .
On the 1851 census they are living in in Footscray but i cann`t trace them after that .
I have traced some of the children Charles & William living in Bromley and Sarah and Thomas living in Cranbrook.

I was interested to know where it gives the age on the death?

On here if you look at a death record it says their age when they died .

I dont think deaths of that time period give you the age at death, they do later

There is no birth for Charles Wraight or Sarah that would match him being 0yr at the time of the death record I posted

Are you saying you can see the age of death on GR? Can you post the record please

Now do they list it as 0yrs for all the deaths that are registered before the years that the age was added

It has to be wrong, there is no birth to match the death age that GR have listed and I have seen a couple of trees on Ancestry (same family) with the death years that we have posted, plus the actual date of death, suggesting that the tree owner has the certificate

Either that is very misleading, or Im nuts (dont answer that!) And they charged 5 credits to view it, when its free to see it on Freebmd :-0

Well i`m a bit confused now !!!!! i`ve only just started doing this ...i have been taking it that if it says 0 years old then the record was to do with a baby.

I think GR records are misleading you Julie.

The record entries for that time do not show age at death - It looks to me as if GR are just routinely putting in a '0' if there is no age shown !!!

Thiis is VERY poor and VERY misleading.

As Gins says, you should also not pay credits to look at Birth Marriage or death records as they are FREE to see on FreeBMD site up until around the 1940's !

It does look to me that those death records found are the correct ones as the people who have them on their trees on the other site do have the actual date of death !

No you are not doing anything wrong, GR listing the age of death and I dont know how they would know that if the GRO dont?

The information that GR have listed is very misleading to say the least and it puts up brickwalls for people, who rule out what is indeed the correct death
