Hi ,i believe a "missing relative may have been sent to this place sometime before 1911.No trace in marriage or death records has ever been found even checked First world war records .My question is could he have died there and would records exist to prove his time there. His name was Thomas Sinclair Burdon b.1884 Southwick Sunderland.Family folklore says he walked out of the family and was never seen again.I wonder what the real truth was ??? |

I have a copy of his sisters marriage in 1913 and he was not a witness i have also checked the possibility that he used his mothers maiden name and other alias's but none seem to get me any closer !! |

Caroline - I've seen a number of instances where parents have written the names of deceased children onto the census forms. This could be one of those. |

What is written in the end column of the 1911 for Tjomas Sinclair is just the end of the word Sunderland ..... whoever filled out the census (presumably father0 spread out his birth place over 2 columns. |
