	Hi there, a difficult one! My distant aunt Clara Bage was born in Middlesbrough in 1878. She married John Smith in 1898 (can't see her in 1901). In 1901 she is living with her brother Harry (Henry) Wood, his wife Jane, their daughter Elsie, and her mother Annie Langburn Wood. Clara is described as married with one child, who has died. I know nothing else about Clara and would love to know more. I have looked on Free BMD but nothing jumps out. Can you help me find a death for her? Thanks, Peter

	How could she have a brother named Wood if her maiden name was Bage?

	There you go Margee - 'broken' families are not just a 21st Century phenomena. Also, I suspect Annie was a bigamist but that is another story. I already have a lot of on her and the families but I am looking into Clara.

	Peter was Annie's maiden name Featherstone? She married Alfred Bage on 5 Aug 1872, Parish Church, Parish of St. John, County of Newcastle on Tyne sylvia

	Peter as you know, mmn is not on birth certificates until mid-1911, so looking for smith is a horrid task! sylvia

Member Since: August 2009 Posts: 771 Send Message	Tees Valley Indexes have two deaths for Clara Smith between 1901 - 1921: year of death 1910: ref M-M-1-0-166 year of death 1915: ref M-M-14-0-443 There's also a Clara D Smith in Guisborough (just along the road) but as you don't mention a middle name I'm assuming this not her You may need to get both death certs to establish which (if either) is your Clara but you can ask questions of registrar before ordering certificate

	If no obvious death is showing, possibly her husband died and she married someone else.
