Re. Choccy's find of the 1863 marriage in Cork......

.....Would the actual parish register have more details about William ROONEY, father of the groom and if so how do I obtain a copy, ...or do I need a registered certificate.?

1845-1863 there was only civil registration for non-catholic marrs. If this were the case, I`ld guess that the church regos matched those sent to the GRO(I). However, I`ld guess this was an RC marr, so what was in the OPR is pretty much up to the priest. I`ve never seen Irish RC OPRs, but they can be quite detailed in some jurisdictions.

I'm not sure, but think this might not be a RC marriage.
( I know Henry's daughter was not RC )... so will pass your information to OH to follow up.
