Can someone help me sort this family out please.

John Thomas STAINES b 1845 Waltham Abbey Essex
Claudine RAPLEY b 1848 Enfield Middlesex

John and Claudine married 1868 Shoreditch, London (I have no idea why they would of married here). STAINES was transcribed as STAINS.

Their Children that I know of were:-

1. Claudine Mary Ann STAINES b 1877 Enfield Middlesex

Have birth and marriage 1899 Edmonton but not sure which spouse is her's

2. Elizabeth Jane STAINES b1878 Enfield Middlesex

Have birth nothing further

3. Helen STAINES b 1883 Waltham Abbey, Essex

Unable to locate birth marriage or death or why this child was born Waltham Abbey and the others Enfield. (Places of birth's are from 1891 census but they are all come under the same registration district of Edmonton)

Someone found John and his children on the 1891 Census living with his parents Thomas & Mary STAINES and sister Eliza A SLADE and her family in Enfield but
a) where was his wife at this time ?and
b) where were they all before and after this date?

I know John died 1918 Enfield and Claudine I think died 1884 Edmonton District although the registration has middle name Victoria which birth and marriage don't have but know from other family members this did happen.

Any info would be gratefully received.

I did wonder on this Eleanor but was not sure.

Can you find her anywhere else that might confirm it??

Kim

Kim Report 19 Apr 2011 13:30

Thank you for confirming the right husband of daughter Claudine.

So that means I should have the right death for Claudine senior then given that John was a widow in 1891. Oh I love it when something finally works together lol.

Kim

Can anyone find John's wife on 1881 census so as to see what other children there were as the child MaureeninNY found must be a sister that I didn't know existed??

Margee I think it must have been coincidence that the names are the same.
