My name is Derek G Crabtree and live in North Yorks, England.

Hope you may be able to help me out.

Most of my ancestors come from Yorkshire areas such as Hebden Bridge, Todmorden, Heptonstall and Halifax; possibly Midgley also My G G G Grandfather has been sugested as a WILLIAM CRABTREE and Wife ELLEN in Halifax, England., although this info has not been verified. I have his son as a JONATHAN Crabtree 1820 born in Hebden Bridge, Yorkshire and was married twice; first was Jane Ellison married in 1845 Bishop Auckland, Durham, England and also a Marry Allison later when Jane died,
Hope you maybe can through some light on this dilema as it would be very much appreciated.

Have you got Jonathan's marriage certificate with Father's name?

I do have marriage cert for Jonathan & Jane Ellison. Jonathans dad is noted as WILLIAM and Janes father as Thomas Ellison

It's just where you say William & Ellen haven't been verified - how far back have you got back where you're certain you're on the right track?

Does the marriage certificate state occupations?
Have you found them in 1841?

Sydney Crabtree is definitely your great x2 grandfather. Born when? Are you saying that he may be the sibling to this Jonathan Crabtree born 1820 Hebden Bridge, although the one I have found is born Heptonstall 1821 son of a William and Ellen. Is this what you are trying to prove. Sorry if I have got this wrong. - jle

Where as Baptisms in Heptonstall St Thomas starts 1813 to 1851

Could you just say when g g Grandfather. SYDNEY CRABTREE, Gateshead was born, as everything else is just speculation.
