A tree on Ancestry has Amelia's mother as Jane Strode, born 1837 in England, daughter of Samuel Strode and Mary Rendell Stroud. Jane married David Hyatt and had 3 children, Jane (Jennie), Adelaide (Addie) and Amelia.

I think your connection to the North Dakota family is through the Strodes not the Patches. I believe this is your gt. grandparents marriage:

Thank you so much to all of you who have kindly replied. I cannot begin to tell you how useful this has been. The Jane Strode to whom you refer is in my family tree so it looks as though my Grandmother (who was both a Strode and a Patch) may have got confused as to which branch of her family were related to the Russells. This is particularly gratifying since the daughter of Roy William Russell and Geraldine Jacobi was none other than Ernestine Russell who is better known by her middle name of Jane and is a Hollywood movie legend. My Gran always said she was a relative of ours but until now I never knew how so thank you all so much.
