Thanks for all the extra Christine, so Grace not dead! George and Harriet seem keen to farm their children out. Grace Plaxton - Grace Rhodes - Grace Allott 1797 Hoyland. I did get there eventually. |

Thank you Christina, I haven't seen Grace in later census so she must have died before 1861. I have found Harriet as the daughter of Grace Plaxton but Plaxton was her second marriage so that search became somewhat convoluted! |

Thank you Christina. The parents seem quite old, I wonder if they had earlier children? The birth place of Newcastle for George senior is interesting as son George's first two children were born in Northumberland. Perhaps he went to stay with a relative up there and that was where he found his first wife......? Looks like there's a bit more to fathom out with this family! |

Thank you Julie, I just found George senior in 1901 with a birth in Rawcliffe and Railway Signalman which pinpointed him in 1881! Of course I didn't know his first wife had died and he didn't marry Elizabeth Cawood until Dec Qtr 1882.......... but I do now. |

Thank you Julie. He gave his age as 23 when he got married and this John is the only one who matches, born in Leeds. |
