Find Ancestors

Trying to helpout a distant cousin (we met through her trying to find my family and it worked), she has a stumbling block on her dad's side, this is what I know.
Trying to find info on BENJAMIN MANDER, possibly born in Worcestershire/Staffordshire, married Mary Ann Brookes 1885 West Bromwich, children that I know of Benjamin J T? born around 1890, not sure if in England or USA Howard Albert born 1891 USA, later sent to Canada, Gladys not sure where born but also went to Canada.Benjamin (son) lived in England and is the father of my relative, he married Helen Jackson in Bakewell Derbyshire, he died in 1947. Benjamin senior is the mystery man, no signs of him on census or birth or death records, although my releative seems to think that he had some sort of mental illness around 1904 and may have been in an institution, and may have died there, there is also some talk of Barnardos home for the children??
I know this is awfully muddled but as I am only in touch with my cousin by email and she is a little elderly now I don't have all the info she has to hand, just thought I would try and help her out, also I like a good mystery to go at myself but need a start.
Any ideas or possiblilities would be good.

Benjamin mander born 1862 to Benjamin dudley mander 1836-1906 and Catherine Page they had 8 children.

Gladys ann 1896 1981 she married and had 11 children died in ontario canada.

1871 says they were in Kingswingford and also there in 1881.

Could be that one Ann, don't know, was hoping that by giving the childrens names a link could be made through them.

THEN he can be found with more certainty

There are three trees on here with Benjamin 1862 and Benjamin 1836.

Thanks all, Mary, info you gave from Ancestry Tree sounds like the right family, especially as I had been told that Gladys had many children! Can I ask is this your tree or can my relative access it herself (we are both with Ancestry). Any more info out there?
Anyone found anything on the death of Benjamin or indeed his wife Mary (Brookes), or even any long shots?

The only one i found on 1911 census was Ida who was a servant and unmarried.

Kingswingford.
There is marriege for Ida Emma Mander with same parents marrying before 1924 in Canada to Albert james Valois.
A daeth for benjamin Mander 1925 in Stourbridge staffs age 62 so he would have been born about 1863 so i think this is Ida's dad. Benjamin Dudley Mander died 1906 so maybe this is the one with mental problems.

Sorry for the delay getting back Mary, internet connection blip, we live in far west of Cornwall and sometimes get problems (and always it seems when you are on to something interesting.). Have just printed off all the info and will be studying it and taking a look at trees on here and on Ancestry - only thing is I've never looked at one on Ancestry before just how do you access someone's tree on there?
I'll be in touch with my relative when she is back from visiting family and let her have this info after taking a look myself.

Go to Ancestry .co.uk put in search Benjamin Mander 1862 Staffordshire then click search.

It comes up with census results and on top line it says family trees,press that.
The first tree what comes up is Benjamins just click on that and it should open up for you.

Hi.
The Mander Family are well known in the Wolverhampton Area. I dont know if its the same family but you could research Wightwick Manor(google) and it will tell you they were famous for Mander Paint. I noticed that for some of your relatives they were from Tettenhall and that would indicate that it might be the same family. Hope this helps.
