I would like to find my Grandmothers Employment details from when she worked at the Clare Hall Hospital in 1918 aged 14yrs. Does anyone have any information on employees from Clare Hall from this period? She was a domestic Help. Hoping to find her Parents details and birth details. Thanks. |

Thank you. Millicent was from Wales and left there at 14 to work at Clare Hall Hospital. She was allegedly born in Pontypridd. Her death cert states she died in Clare Hospital too (not of TB tho - cancer) in 1972. She never spoke of her childhood or family and took her family details to her grave. Her death cert states she was born in 1899 but her marriage states 1904 - she names her father as Richard Gwynum Thomas on her marriage cert but I have been unable to locate him. I have numerous birth certs for millicent, none being her - so, I thought I would try the employment route to see if there was more information on a Employment Record. Thank you for your information, but i have been unable to find her on the 1911 census also. |

Yes, thank you, I have that birth Cert - alas not her. I have not looked for her under Morfydd - being naive, I thought that when you get married, you give your proper name - i now know this not to be the case. |

Oh my goodness. How did you know the witness's name on the Marriage cert? That is amazing. Would you suggest i get her birth cert? Who might she be - considering she was born in Pontyprid also!!! |

My Grandfather was born in 1903 - he stated me was 26 on the marriage cert and she said she was 27 - which is odd as usually you wouldnt say that you'd be older than your husband to be. |
