Can anyone get me any information on my grandfather Andrews brother who was :John Maxwell born around 1895 in Cathcart Glasgow?,
Father was John Maxwell born c1840, Cathcart glasgow and married to Agnes Izat born probably 1840 also in glasgow,
Both married : 04/05/1876.
Izat Side: Agnes had 2 Son's John ,who maybe was a P.O.W. in Germany 1918 & Andrew ( my granfather), We know of possibly 1 sister Helen Izat who married Alexander Maxwell in 1888 Hutchie area of Glasgow with 1 son Andrew,
It may be that Agnes and Helen Izat both sisters married 2 Maxwell brothers.
my mum is 65 and has never been able to find most of her family,
my greatgran and grandad McCudden dissappeared after leaving my gran in a tennament close and may have moved to England: Hannah McCudden may have been English?, both Hannah and John McCudden were born around 1840? and married 04/05/1855 and went on to have 10 children before they left Scotland, Any help would be so gratefully appreciated, you will never know, Thank You, Linda xx

No no no Agnes cant have been born 1840-45, would she still be having babies at almost 60 yr old......

The poor relief records for Glasgow are indexed and kept at the Mitchell library in Glasgow so you may find something there about abandoned children there.
