Helen & Elizabeth,
I'm sure I have the correct Jemima as I viewed the death cert on SP.
I have sent the other person that I have all the matches with, so I'll wait for a reply from her. (I'm sure she must have the wrong Jemima or I have)

Thank you so much for all your help,I really appreciate it.

I have had a reply from the person with matches and she says Jemima was her great, great grandmother and she lived on to marry???
I'm so confused as they were both born the same year to the same parents!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amanda,

You say you have looked at the death certificate for Jemima Ferguson. If her parents are registered as Thomas Ferguson and Margaret McMurtrie, I can’t really see how the other person can claim her Jemima married with the same parents names mentioned on her marriage certificate.

Did you point this out … and has the other person actually seen the marriage certificate of her Jemima. This is a case where actually viewing the certificates is important to verify information.

As Elizabeth points out previously, there were two Jemima Ferguson’s born. One in 1884 (yours) and another in 1885.

There’s a mix up somewhere along this line ….

Helen, she was going to check the marriage cert to check the parents names again, I haven't heard back yet.

I havent read through all your thread.
Sometimes if a child died they named another one the same name. I came across that a couple of times.
In saying that it might just be the male line.
