Your grandad's birth (a year out)? I can't see Eleanor Smith, well i can but there are loads of them so I don't know which one is yours :-)

Births Jun 1918 (94%)

Walsh John Lowe W.Derby 8b 817

The marriage of John and Eleanor:

Lancashire Marriage indexes for the years: 1942
Surname Forename(s) Surname Forename(s) Church / Register Office Registers At Reference
WALSH John P SMITH Eleanor Everton, St. Benedict Liverpool 2060WD/5/190

I can't find a marriage for Amelia Lowe and John Walsh.

Sam Report 22 May 2008 13:54

You don't think that the marriage is them or the birth? Why have you ruled it out?

Samantha

Samantha Report 22 May 2008 13:57

my uncle is possitive her date of birth was 5.12.18 the marriage could be so that could be a starting point..

Samantha

Samantha Report 22 May 2008 13:58

Sam

Sam Report 22 May 2008 14:07

You would have to order it but you could ask them to check the fathers names, to make sure.

Samantha

Copy this link into your browser, then if you click on the reference number at the right hand side of the marrige, it will open a form that you can print off and send off to get a copy.

Samantha

Samantha Report 22 May 2008 14:20

where do you find all this out is that why you have to buy credits to get into all that..

Samantha

Samantha Report 22 May 2008 14:21

Samantha

Samantha Report 22 May 2008 14:24

i didn't know that about the cencus just thought it would be worth a try thanks for helping me.....

Sam

Sam Report 22 May 2008 14:26

This could be him then - which would match with the birth I found earlier, a year out - Sandwell registration district covers Rowley Regis.

Name: John Patrick Walsh
Birth Date: 19 Apr 1918
Death Registration Month/Year: Jun 1986
Age at death (estimated): 68
Registration district: Sandwell
Inferred County: West Midlands
Volume: 33
Page: 1144

The marriage I found is on a free website - www.lancashireBMD.org.uk

The birth I found earlier is also on a free website - www.FreeBMD.org.uk

Neither of them are complete though so just because you can't find somthing it doesn't mean it didn't happen!

The deaths are both from Ancestry, which you have to pay to use. Always worth checking the free websites first and NEVER buy credits from this website, they are a rip off!
