I may have the record Jan 2003

I have been a member since 2004 and only in the last month or so I have found new family members and while posting a trying to find spotted someone trying to find the same names I am looking for so I left a post not realising they posted in 2003 till I looked later for a reply so then I PM,d the person but have had no responce.
Some times you just don't realise untill it's to late.

no harm in nudging ... ;)

Paul -- if you do that -- I know, I've looked at old threads and failed to notice how old, too -- just go back and edit your post, or add another post, to say you noticed the date and have PMed the person who posted the message.

That'll save getting helpful posts/PMs from multiple helpful people. ;)

Oh Kathryn,

We're all multiply helpful in multiple ways!!!

Women call it Multitasking..... Men call it impossible !!

But you know what the problem is.

People see those posts when they look at a particular surname list.

If they're looking at a particular surname list, they never ever ever see the helpful hints posts on the general TTF board.

We can post 'em til we're blue in the face, but unless someone steps outside the Plato's cave of his/her particular surname interest, we're whistling in the wind.

Ditto for any suggestions submitted to site management that posters be presented with a short list of tips and rules when they compose a new thread -- which is where these tips and the rules *really* need to be set out -- of course.

GB the record goes to you...

Maybe we ought to start a thread about the oldest post we've seen a reply to??

This might highlight it better lol
