OK everyone thanks for the help,
Will see if I can get the same results next time when I look into her brother Richard Evers who married an Elizabeth Carter in the Q2 1928 (8b 413) in Liverpool. (or maybe not thinking about it)
Good Night and sleep well see you all soon

More than considered I would say Flick.

My Great gran had 5 different fathers for her 6 children I have worked out,but the first in Wedlock, before she left her husband for another man,and when he died, another, and when he died another, who went to the mental assylum then I lost the plot.!.

I also, as many on here know, have different fathers for my sons.

Very true flick....
She seems to have been left to her own devices since leaving the family home

Christine

Christine Report 17 Jul 2010 22:57

I take it you are both thinking the same as me....

Flick

Flick Report 17 Jul 2010 22:57

There may not have been only one..............sorry, but it has to be considered.

Christine

Christine Report 17 Jul 2010 22:55

Thats the conclution I am coming to Micheal so whoever he was had to be around for at least 19 years......

Christine

Christine Report 17 Jul 2010 22:54

Thanks for that FannyByGaslight will give it try but I know with her older son Thompson b. in 1919 according to the war graves website, she had Thompsons' father named as
Thomas Evers... the plot thickens there was no Thomas Evers around at the time as no marriage. I know women used to use the surname of the father for the child born out of wedlock so there is a possibility there I suppose

Flick

Flick Report 17 Jul 2010 22:52

Without doubt...............and that would explain the unwillingness to discuss family background on the part of Christine's father etc

Sorry Flick. got my Elizabeths and Mary Elizabeths mixed up.

Still if Kevin was the youngest of 5 and he was born with his mother's maiden name, that seems to suggest that ALL her children had no father officially .

Michael.

You've missed a generation......lol!

10 year old MARY - who was Kevin's mother - is in Nazareth House in 1911

Christine

Christine Report 17 Jul 2010 22:22

You are right Micheal this is the correct couple

Christine

Christine Report 17 Jul 2010 22:19

Hi Micheal
In 1911 Elizabeth, Mary' mum was listed as a widow.
and her (Marys) brother Richard was living at home with Elizabeth.
Mary had beensent to the poor house

Mike * Report 17 Jul 2010 22:11

But Kevin was her youngest and in 1911 she was a widow so Evers must have been her married name ?

Christine

Christine Report 17 Jul 2010 22:11

Hi Flick
Yes it was sorry for being slow new to this type of board

Christine

Christine Report 17 Jul 2010 22:09

Hi ,
Sorry his surname is given as Evers but the cetificate we have is only a standard copy I think the originals stayed with his mum who died in 1999,
all paperwork missing???
Marys' name on the census' for 1911 is Evers daughter of Richard and Elizabeth Evers!!

Thanks
