Bethnal Green Disaster 1943 Report 13 Mar 2009 03:35

This is actually Victoria here!!

I have been able to get all the names into GR via gedcom (despite having a power cut here!)

If you want to access the tree to gain access please try searching for one of the names that you are researching

The tree owner should come up as Bethnal Green

Any probs then let me know.

Bethnal Green Disaster 1943 Report 13 Mar 2009 08:41

If you can just send me the info by PM I will out the info in the tree and Gr will look for matches, I will put a note on the person in the tree if there are matches or not. It's already started giving me hot matches but need to know more info on the people to be able to confirm there families.

I can give you access to the tree is you request in the normal way.

I had a glitch with the tree in that hidden characters were in the surnames making search impossible but I've sorted that now.

Hi go to search trees ,put in one of the names i.e Doris Warrington 1926.
and this will give her details. "find out more" you can then request to see the tree. The tree owner ticks the box and you will get a message allowing you to open it .The link will then stay in the drop down box in your family tree site

Janice -- indeed we do need to do that -- identify the ones that have been found in GR trees.

I'll go through the thread and go back to my list on page 1 later tonight or on Saturday and add

"found - GR tree owner PMed by ___"

beside each name it's been done for. (Everybody go ahead and PM the tree owners they identify, and I'll just assume for the list purposes that you've done it.)

>>>> Actually -- would you add a post IN CAPITAL LETTERS saying the NAME OF THE VICTIM and that you have PMed the tree owner?

If anybody who has done that would edit their post to make it capital letters I would be grateful.

And yes, I'd say PM possibles. Cast our net wide, eh?

Victoria -- you could just include Anna's email address when you grant tree access. (Anna will give it to anybody, it's just that it's not supposed to be on the boards.)

edit - Victoria - if you have two minutes, you could just go through the thread here and click all the posters' names and grant tree access.

EvieBeavie

EvieBeavie Report 13 Mar 2009 19:01

My first PM, only sent a few miniutes ago, has been read by the GR tree owner!

(You can tell when a message is opened by looking in your Sent Messages box.)

We're on our way!

edit -- opened, and answered. The tree owner (related through a parent) will be getting in touch, and also has family still in the area.
