Billinge is also much nearer to St. Helens and Wigan than it is to Manchester. May be worth trying their local history. Cx.

Sorry for not putting any of the Gee family names down and being more specific. I was trying to find anyone who is researching the Gees in Billinge.
I have traced my tree and found quite a bit of what you have found out too, thank you for that. My stumbling point is Thomas Gee born 1817 married Millicent Gaskell and I have all his census information. His Father John Gee born circa 1790 married a woman I think was called Ann Shaw (not proven yet)
They had 7 children. Jane 1813, Ann 1814, Thomas 1817, Elizabeth 1819, Mary 1821 William 1823 and Ellen 1825.
I want to make sure that I have the right John Gee married to Ann Shaw and proceed farther back from there. I can find no mention of Ann Shaw being married to him any place.
I have printed out what you have found out.
I am also in the process of moving from Florida to Michigan next Friday. so if you dont hear back from me its because the Internet wont be hooked up yet in my new home.
I am disconnecting this one on the 25th March.

I have found looking for my own family in the same area that the same names crop up agaain and again with cousins marrying in a small community. It is well worth checking the witnesses out.

Interesting as this marriage is just six months earlier and a witness is a Shaw.
