There's a possible marriage of a Margaret M L Donaldson in Marylebone reg district in 1951, to a William D Deane.

Of course, I don't know what that lady's middle names are.

I would like to find any living family and also her ancesters.It is possible that the family changed their name in the 1900s from McCormick to Donaldson.They would be living around the Epworth/Crowle,Lincolnshire,South Yorks border, at that time.

When you say "the family changed their name in the 1900's", do you mean that George's parents or grandparents changed their name before George's marriage in 1921? Somewhere between 1900 and 1921 ??

Without knowing George's age, and his parents' names, it's hard to find the family in censuses - the most recent available being 1911.

If you spend a few credits (6) on ScotlandsPeople, to see the marriage cert, you'd find out his parents' names, and his age.

Yes,
George's father we believe was born Patrick J McCormick about 1856? but they changed there name between the 1901-1911 census, while at Crowle/Epworth, Lincs.( family groups in both places with same birthdates) changed , for work or religious reasons.
George married twice but this first marraige produced Margaret,Mary Lambert Donaldson.George is buried RC Windsor.
The most info we have is from George's war records (both wars),his brother, James William Donaldson 1889-1943 (my Grandfather) died in hospital in Nottingham with the alias on his records as a McCormick.
He is buried there in a paupers grave because a family feud wanted to bury him as a McCormick but his wife (Mable Matthews) had only ever known him as a Donaldson! and objected.

What was George's mother's name?
When was George born?

I don't see Patrick in Crowle, or anywhere in Lincs , in 1901 or 1911, as either McCormick or Donaldson.

I don't see his birth in Lincolnshire 1888-90, under either surname.

Aha! Can this be James in 1911? But with wife (???) Annie Elizabeth? did James marry twice?
EDIT: But the image says both Annie and James are single. Confusing, to say the least.

1901 Census most of them were down as born at Epworth under the name of Donaldson.
Rose died in 1907 and is buried at Epworth, James was with her at death as a Donaldson and her husband John Donaldson was away at sea??
I have not been able to find a marraige to a John Donaldson between 1894 -1901

So James in 1911 was Henry Mourby's brother-in-law, because he was Florrie's half-brother?

And Annie Elizabeth was James's half-sister. I see - the 1911 census now makes sense.

BUT -

Florrie's maiden surname was Dawson, going by Sarah's birth record, as well as Florrie's marriage ???


Re John Donaldson (a new name in the mix) -
presumably Rose couldn't marry him as she was still married to Patrick.
