Steve

Have you bought the death cert that Malyon posted (on page 2 of this thread)?

Removed info - see my post below. Sorry for any confusion :-(

Info removed.

Ah yes, just checked, S is at the same address- he must have excluded himself from the public electoral register for a couple of years- he reappears in 2015 & 2017.

But...I'm must getting myself confused.

The above death you posted is for Rhondda (not Neath)- are you saying that the Arthur he's searching for isn't the father of S?

The Arthur you posted was a printer's apprentice in 1939 living Rhondda- doesn't really fit with heavy manual labour. Surely the Neath 2002 (4th qtr) death is more likely as the father of S?

Think I'll sit this one out before I confuse things further!!

No AustinQ - don't sit this out!! Me confusing things.......I hadn't seen 1939 register giving this Arthur's occupation, sorry :-(

So must be the other death - the 2002 one. Has Steve not bought that one then?

I will edit my earlier post - sorry for confusion.

Personally I would have bought one of Arthur's marriages first to get his full name and father's name, but that's just me. ;-)

Sorry Mary- the sun is frying my brain, I'm having difficulty concentrating!

I think it would be easier to send Shaun a letter- especially now we know he's still listed there. Might save a whole load of money.

If that's not successful, as Mary says, buying his marriage certificate could help.

I'm doubtful that the Bridgend Shaun is connected.

Hi,
I can confirm that we think Shaun is Arthurs son from his last marriage to Gladys/Doreen the name stacks up for his wife at the time.
I have Arthurs first marriage cert that confirm it is him and we have now found Jaqueline his daughter my wife's step sister.
should have Arthur James Thomas birth year 1922 event quarter 4 district 8961a entry 073 birth cert by the end of the week

Hi Steve

When did you get Arthur's 1st marriage cert? And just out of curiosity, what was his father's name please? :-)

JoonieCloonie Report 24 May 2017 17:09

I am a bit leery about all the personal info (name and address??) given in this thread about someone or someones who may not even be connected ... but even if they are, and maybe especially if they are, they may really not want that personal info posted on line, let alone in connection with all the family tales ...

could the actual name of a living person, and the street names at least, not be edited out?

AustinQ

AustinQ Report 24 May 2017 17:37

Joonie- I agree. I wasn't feeling comfortable so I've adjusted a couple of my posts. If there's anything I've missed just let me know.

Steve now you have the current address for Arthur's son in Neath, you might want to think about writing to him. - I would delete his address from any posts though.

The Bridgend man is unlikely to be related so it might be wise to delete his address.

Yes, you're quite right JoonieCloonie - have deleted info - Steve has it anyway so shouldn't have put it on here really. :-(

Rambling Report 25 May 2017 22:40

Not much point repeating info that has already been found until some attempt at contact is made, especially not to be posting addresses etc.

I did try to imply in my last post on here , without giving out all these private details, that good connections have already been found.
