when you are new here and ppl reply by PM and you ask them not to,,,
you get abused and treated like a dickhead...

so no,,,
when ppl reply to be my PM now I will reply by PM and you can all sit and suffer...
NOT up to me to ask or make people reply on the boards...
UP to you to all make sure that replying on thre boards is a MUST..

You misunderstand ................ once again!!!

You really do need to know how Genes Reunited works!




THIS thread is on Find Living Relatives ....... and information on living people is NOT to be posted on the open board.


That is for privacy ........ and such posts will be deleted by GR.




Posts for dead people are fine to be posted on the open board and that is when we do ask that the requesters do not send pms, but post replies on the open thread so that all helpers can see it.

In this case, it is the helpers who are being asked to say they have sent ms containing the requested information.

It stops the requester being inundated with pms, all giving the same information.




Live vs dead ....... 2 different methods




all aimed at not spreading information on living people willy nilly all over the internet.



In case you didn't know it, information from this site, ancestry, fmp, etc etc can be (and have regularly been) picked by Google within 2 minutes of posting.



It really is wrong to spread information on living people around when they may not know they are being looked for ...... especially as most of these cases are for adoptions, and or birth parents.

Most ppl who nudged think PM's are ok and support them...

I will accept and reply PM,,,,,as I just got abused and screwed for denying PM,,,,((by some who uppd in here))

Make up your minds.....
either deny PM's and ask everyone to reply on boards....OR
support the people who ask for board posts and not PM's...

YOu are all kinda all over the place....ask for board posts but back PM's an attack people who do not like PM's..

If information about living people is found then it needs to be sent by pm.

However, it needs to be stated that this has been done so that helpers know that such information has been found and do not spend time trying to repeat research.

So if the poster is looking for her cousin Sarah P Blenkinsop, marriage unknown, and you have found John F and Sarah P Jones living in Swindon with 3 children called Teresa, Alicia, and Freddie in 2003, then state that information on Sarah's family has been sent by pm.

If you have received a pm, then reply to the poster by pm asking them to return to the boards with their information, as long as it does not give out explicit confidential information.
