The grandmother was the strangest. Initially I thought her grandson had died - a replica doll would still be weird, but sort of understandable - but to find the grandson still alive - incredibly creepy. Loved the grandson's comment though - at least he's in the real world!

Saw it first time round.. although they are not harming anyone ,,I wonder what harm they are doing to themselves living in this --fantasy--- outside the *norm*----its unhealthy,,,

I saw this a few weeks ago and what I found most creepy was you could have the doll with a heartbeat! Now that would unerve me completely.

You can take it as a harmless hobby but I think a few of those women featured were obsessive to put it mildly.

Errr I won't be getting one I would sooner have a cyber dog...lol

I watched it after recording it first time round. I could kind of understand the grandmother who was missing her grandson since he emigrated with his family, she obviously has no other grandchildren to make a fuss of or cuddle.
I didn't think it was that attractive tho, and nor were many if any of them.
Having lost my daughter at 3 days, born prematurely, I could maybe imagine I might have wanted one had they been available at the time, just to feel something in my arms to cuddle and maybe that is what these women want, something to cuddle and care for. The woman who went to America admitted she wanted perfection hence the model baby rather than a real one so it kept clean etc. She obviously had issues that could have done with treatment but maybe that had not been recognised by a doctor and treatment given.
Really, I felt rather sorry for them all in their various ways of 'caring' for their babies/dolls and have to say that as long as they weren't hurting anyone else or snatching babies from prams, it was up to them.

felt sorry for those sad lonely ladies, but I
found the dolls spooky, they are on ebay selling
at £300 and one had 16 bids and still going
