Any ideas for unusual christening pressie for our grandson. His mum and dad don't really want the usual mug, picture, plaque etc - which l can understand as they tend to get put away and forgotten. Adding to his savings account is one idea - but just wondered if anyone has something different to suggest??

Jude,
Why not do him a book about the family history? and include a tree with him being the trunk of the tree.

Do you actually want to hand him something?
If not, a gift of a tree in a protected woodland that you could maybe visit together and watch grow would be an idea.

If they have a big enough garden, one could grow at home of course.

Gwyn - it does'nt have to be something to hand to him - but we are getting a tree for their garden anyway, they are supposed to be checking out which one they want!!!!!
and they actually did hand prints here a couple of months ago - they were'nt brilliant though.
l wonder if they would like a St Christopher?? do kids wear them now adays - but again they may not like that idea - grrrrrr fussy or what!!!!

His other nan is getting premium bonds, thats why we were thinking of adding to his savings account.

Yeh he's 8 and abit months now (and so gorgeous!!)

will take alook on google later - thanks for your suggestions - l really like family tree one, but not enough time:o(

When our son was christened MIL and SIL paid for photos to be done at a studio.

They are beautifull and a lasting memory

One of ours had beautiful leather bound one with lovely full plate illustations and all the text in clear easy to understand vocabulary... plus space at the front to record their own family.
