Janet. I am so sorry to read that you are feeling low today. I know how you feel, but someone will always speak to you on the boards, as I have found.
About where I stay?
Well, it's peeing down rain, but I live in what a lot of 'townies' would class 'the country', and my living room window faces out to trees, and I can walk for miles, well, I could if I had the energy, and it was nice, lol, Well this should make you laugh. I remembered it this morning when I was in my local Co-op. About 25yrs ago, I bought a pair of boots, with stilleto heels and up to my knees, and I though I was the bees knees. I kept them on, and my mum, me, and my two kids went walking round the shops. We were crossing the road, and I slid all my length right in the middle of the road, and felt a right a......e. I got up, and my son said to me 'Mum you've got odd boots on'. He could tell by the soles. Well, I marched right back to the shop, and the assistant didn't know where to put herself. Honestly, that is a true story.
Hope you have cheered up with all the support you have had, and keep smiling. The only way is up.

Vods xx

Hi Janet
Sorry you're feeling low but hope being on here will cheer you up - it's usually a good place to be so just enjoy.
I have a lovely view over water from my back garden but right on the road at the front. I get round that by leaving the blinds down at the front!!
You were in the same work for a long time so it will take a while to get out of your routine and to stop thinking about it. It will happen so take heart.

BC the market is not as good as it used to be lots of stalls are missing and not so many traders now.
I have wondered about a light box, I am on anti-depressants anyway, lived my life on them really.
Ann I have a friend who lives in your area, it sounds wonderful, I have passed through on holiday.
Kim thank you the flowers are beautiful
Hazel, I am so jealous of where you live, just give me a tent in your garden
Mandy before I put this thread up I just could not think of anything that would cheer me up, I have other hobbies but just could not be bothered. I am so so glad I put the thread on 'cos I feel better now having people to talk to and hearing about them.
This is the best reason for staying with Genes, there is always some lovely person there when you need them. I do hope all realise how grateful i am to you x

Hello Janet

I'm another one who struggles at this time of year and I do find the light box useful. I also try to keep myself busy with family history, cardmaking and scrapbooking, and transcribing for FreeBMD.

The Kennet and Avon Canal runs past the end of my road so although I'm on an estate, we have lovely walks just a few minutes away. Our two little dogs love it! It's also nice to look at the barges and longboats.

I hope you soon feel better, why not have a word with your GP?

Mandy :) x

Hello Scooby,
sorry to hear your feeling a bit down ,
my name is Hazel and i live in north wales.
just a stone's throw from the sea on one side and on the other side is the farmers fields as far as you can see.
So when the weather is rough you can hear the roar of the sea , then when it's nice you can hear the cows mooing and the sheep bleating , lol
i do hope you will soon be feeling better

Hi Janet. My daughter in law has a light box which she uses this time of year and she says it really does make a difference. It has been so dark for most of January so far that it is really depressing isn't it? At the moment it is dry here and I have just looked out of the window to see a really big full moon, lovely.

Something nice about my area. I live between Gloucester and Cheltenham, both interesting towns. Glos has the docks, the canal and the river Severn plus some interesting old buildings and a wonderful cathedral (think Harry Potter). Cheltenham is a lovely regency town. To the South of us we have the wonderful Cotswolds with Laurie Lee country, lovely walks and views. To the West we have the Wonderful Forest of Dean and Wales.

Interesting people live in the Cotswolds - Prince Charles, Princess Anne, Jilly Cooper to name a few.
