I love flying. And it has changed so much over the years.

One time we flew to Dublin (c 1963) and I could see tiny, little fishing boats in the Irish Sea. On the way back, they couldn't close the door properly. There was a ring of light all the way round it!!! That didn't stop them!!! When they flew over the Irish Sea there were BIG fishing boats!!!!

Still the safest way to travel.
I have travelled 60,000 miles by air over the years [40 ],and never had any bother.
In the same time frame and less miles ,i have been involved in six accidents [none my fault] i think those statistics speak for themselves.

My niece is a long haul air hostess for british airways. She has been in a couple of scares. If all cabin crew said after a scare like friday would never fly again,no-one would fly again as there would be no-one to fly the aircraft.Do we say we are never going on a coach ride again after a coach crash.I think we are still very safe in the sky.I have to say this as i am going to Australia this year with my niece. Its the safest form of transport, try hitting the ground or any other hard surface in anything other than a plane at the speed the 777 hit the grass at Heathrow and you wouldn't walk away..Col

it wont stop me, even though I am not keen on flying. I am equally not keen on driving down or up the M5, M6, M1, M anything!!

You could get so paranoid that you would never leave the house. what sort of life would hat be?
