Seen, though I think I might not be able to get a hold of The Hungry Tide as I can only find one library with it on the internet tonight and that one is in the South Island, will check with local library tomorrow - Michelle

Seen this Ann. I may have to wait a couple of weeks for Searching for Tilly though. It seems very popular at the moment!

Michelle....sorry! Valerie Wood is a local author and I didn't stop to think that you might not be able to get it over there

Michelle would it be worth trying Amazon. If not I suggest you read and review the Kite Runner which you should be able to get. As I suggested it I will read and review it too then we still have a comparison.

Hiya

I've already got searching for Tilly in my "to read whether or not it's voted for" pile, so that's a result. I'll probably get the other one off Amazon. Had a nightmare with the library with last months books - ordered them all (4 actually) in November and I've not had one through yet! So I'll have to review the books I read in their place! AL

I have been searching for the Hungry Tide in Gloucester today. Not even a copy in ottakers. I will have a look on Amazon. I think there are only about 4 copies in Glos libraries. The trouble with putting in a request is the time it takes to come through. maybe will try that tomorrow. has anyone else had a problem getting it?

Hello Ann I'm here and I will talk to you. I am a hundred plus pages into Searching For Tilly and am finding it quite interesting, also I found that I know some of the places they are describing in the book. I realised today I have only six days before it is due back at the library and I can't have a renewal on this book so me thinks housework may not happen this weekend. Michelle

Hi Michelle, thank you for responding. I am enjoying searching for Tilly, I do like her books, many of them she has written are centred on this village where I live.

There is a good connection to family History in searching for Tilly isn't there? Keeps you interested and intrigued. never mind the h'work, you enjoy a good read!!!

Hi Ann

I'm sorry, I didn't see this thread come back to the top.

I have ordered both books from the library. However, I found Searching for Tilly in Sainsbury's just afterwards so bought it instead and I'm about three quarters of the way through it. I found it quite hard going to start with but I'm getting into it more as it goes on.

The Hungry Tide hasn't come in yet but I'm looking forward to reading it as that will be centred around the area I know well.

Good afternoon, as I decided I would not have time to order and read the books for this month I have been reading The Greatest Knight.
So far just a quarter of the way through but am enjoying a lot. Was it Lady of Hay that showed William Marshel as not a very nice person? In this book he comes across(so far)as a very likeable sort a and finding it a very enjoyable read.
Look forward to joining in with next months choices

xx Jill
