My toilet is dripping

Once flushed and the tank bit fill it drips constantly until flushed again and drip, drip again.
Any ideas how to fix it please?

Mine does that. I hit the cistern and it stops lol, Dont know that it would be recommended though!!

It might have a build up of limescale on the ball valve bit in the cistern. Have a look, it will be obvious. Good luck

Have you tried adjusting the float arm?

Yes, tried last night and it still drips.

CG, take the lid off cistern and you will find a screw looking thing, at the end of the ball, just adjust that and it should stop the overflow!

Tried it and it is still being a so and so! When I pull the ball up a bit it stops? Just worried as I am out all afternoon. You are right Taff about doing it ourselves, I am usually good at the old DIY

Mine did that and I had to call a plumber in and he replaced a bit (cant rember which bit) but the bill came to £75 arghh

right CG get a metal coat hanger and put it under the bar, so it keeps the ball up
(should I rephrase that!! lol)

Tar all, I have turned the water of in the bathroom until I come home.

float arm has a ballcock on it
bend the arm to drop the water level
