Phantom Of The Opera - All I Ask Of You Lyrics

No more talk of darkness,
forget these wide-eyed fears;
I'm here, nothing can harm you,
my words will warm and calm you.
Let me be your freedom,
let daylight dry your tears;
I'm here, with you, beside you,
to guard you and to guide you.

(Christine)....
Say you'll love me ev'ry waking moment;
turn my head with talk of summertime.
Say you need me with you now and always;
promise me that all you say is true,
that's all I ask of you.

(Raoul)....
Let me be your shelter,
let me be your light;
you're safe, no one will find you,
your fears are far behind you.

(Christine)....
All I want is freedom,
a world with no more night;
and you, always beside me,
to hold me and to hide me.

(Raoul)....
Then say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime;
let me lead you from your solitude.
Say you need me with you, here beside you,
anywhere you go, let me go too,
that's all I ask of you.

(Christine)...

Say you'll share with me one love, one lifetime.
Say the word and I will follow you.

(Together)...
Share each day with me, each night, each morning.

(Christine)...
Say you love me...

(Raoul)....
You know I do.

(Together)
Love me, that's all I ask of you.

Anywhere you go let me go too

Love me...
that's all I ask of you.

Love musicals at the theatre but not so keep on TV. Have seen Joseph half a dozen times, Beauty and the Beast twice, Oliver twice, Scrooge, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Half a Sixpence,

Lumiere
Be our guest! Be our guest!
Put our service to the test
Tie a napkin round you neck, cherie
And we'll provide the rest
Soup du jour!
Hot hors d'oeuvres!
Why, we only live to serve
Try the grey stuff, it's delicious
Don't believe me? As the dishes!
They can sing, they can dance!
After all, miss, this is France!
And a dinner here is never second best
Go on, unfold your menu
Take a glance, and then you'll
Be our guest
Oui, our guest!
Be our guest

Flatware
Beef ragout!
Cheese souffle!
Pie and pudding en flambe!

Lumiere
We'll prepare and serve with flair
A culinary cabaret!
You're alone and you're scared
But the banquet's all prepared
No one's gloomy or complaining
While the flatware's entertaining
We tell jokes, I do tricks
With my fellow candlesticks

Flatware
And it's all in perfect tast, that you can bet!
Come on and lift your glass
You've won your own free pass to Be our guest!

Lumiere
If your stressed
It's fine dining we suggest

All
Be our guest, be our guest, be our guest
Be our guest, be our guest
Get your worries off your chest
Let us say for your entree
We've an array, may we suggest
Try the bread, try the soup
When the croutons loop de loop
It's a treat for any diner!
Don't believe me? Ask the china!
Singing pork, dancing veal
What an entertaining meal
How could anyone be gloomy or depressed?
We'll make you shout encore
And send us out for more
So be our guest, be our guest
Be our guest

Mrs. Potts
It's a guest, it's a guest
Sakes alive, well I'll be blessed!
Wine's been pouring and thank the Lord
I've had the napkins freshly pressed
With dessert, she'll want tea
And my dear, that's fine with me
While the cups do their soft-shoeing
I'll be bubbling! I'll be brewing!
I'll get warn, piping hot!
Heaven's sakes! Is that a spot?
Clean it up! We want the company impressed!

All
We've got a lot to do

Mrs. Potts
Is it one lump or two
For you, our guest

All
She's our guest!

Mrs. Potts
She's our guest!

All
She's our guest!
Be our guest! Be our guest! Be our guest!

Lumiere
Life is so unnerving
For a servant who's not serving
He's not whole without a soul to wait upon
Ah, those good old days when we were useful
Suddenly, those good old days are gone
Ten years, we've been rusting
Needing so much more than dusting
Needing exercise-a chance to use our skills
Most days, we just lay around the castle
Flabby, fat, and lazy
You walked in and ups-a-daisy!

All
Be our guest! Be our guest!
Our command is your request
It's ten years since we've had anybody here
And we're obsessed
With your meal, with your ease
Yes, indeed, we aim to please
While the candlelight's still glowing
Let us help you, we'll keep going

All
Course by course, one by one!
Till you shout, "Enough, I'm done!"
Then we'll sing you off to sleep as you digest
Tonight you'll prop your feet up!
But for now, let's eat up!
Be our guest!
Be our guest!
Be our guest!
Please be our guest!

Has to be -

West Side Story - Maria .....

The most beautiful sound I ever heard
All the beautiful sounds of the world in a single word
Maria
I just met a girl named Maria
And suddenly that name
Will never be the same
To me
Maria
I just kissed a girl named Maria
And suddenly I found
How wonderful a sound
Can be
Maria
Say it loud and there's music playing
Say it soft and it's almost like praying
Maria
I'll never stop saying
Maria
Maria, Maria...
Maria
Say it loud and there's music playing
Say it soft and it's almost like praying
Maria
I'll never stop saying
Maria
The most beautiful sound I ever heard
Maria

Rose, you are so right. When we came back to the midlands after years in remote west Cornwall I asked Donna what she wanted for our first night out.''lets go to the theatre'' she replied without hesitation. We hope to see Mary Poppins when it tours in the summer...the only downfall is that these days a night at the theatre is a pretty expensive evening out col x

Rose, I think one of the runners up (the blonde lad I think) is supposed to be doing the touring version of the show. I've got Joseph on DVD with donny Osmond in it but it just doesnt work

Love musicals. Love Joseph and one of the older ones carousel. But all time favourite is Les Miserables.

On My Own

And now I'm all alone again,
nowhere to turn, no one to go to.
Without a home, withouta friend...
without a face to say hello to,
and now the night is near I can make believe he's here.
Sometimes I walk alone at night.
when everybody else is sleeping..
I think of him and I'm happy with the company I'm keeping,
the city goes to bed and I can live inside my head.
On my own pretending he's beside me,
all alone I walk with him till morning,
without him I feel his arms around me
and when I lose my way I close my eyes and he has found me.
In the rain the pavement shines like silver,
all the lights are misty in the river,
in the darkness the trees are full of starlight...
and all I see is him and me forever and forever.
And I know it's only in my mind,
that I'm talking to myself and not to him.
And altough I know that he is blind,
still I say, there's a way for us.
I love him!
But when the night is over,
he's gone, the river's just a river.
Without him the world around me changes,
the trees are bare and everywhere the streets are full of strangers.
I love him!
But every day I'm learning,
all my life I've only been pretending.
Without me his world will keep on turning,
a world that's full of happiness that I have never known.
I love him...I love him...I love him,
but only on my own!

Not seen Les Mis and missed Me and My Girl as had chicken pox (lol at 35 years old it wasn't funny).
whilst on the subject has anyone seen 'Cats' or 'Starlight Express' for some reason neither appeals to us...but are interested if anyone thinks they are worth seeing

Rambling Report 3 Jan 2008 12:42

I saw 'Barnum' with Michael Crawford maybe a dozen times lol

Love knows no rules,
Love has no time,
Love laughs at rhyme and reason,
Sweeping the stage,
Mad or sublime,
Knowing no age or season.
Wise men and fools,
Playing love's game,
Bend to the same sweet treason.
Love's silver song,
Swift as a flame,
Bends to the strongest wall.
Love knows no rules,
Love has no time,
Love makes such fools of us all.

Colin..have only seen 'Cats' on TV...wasn't thrilled by it, and not wanted to see 'Starlight' really...though lots of people enjoyed it I think...maybe the skating added something for some? lol

We have seen Les Mis three times and would go again tomorrow, wonderful show. We have seen cats twice but it is not a favourite. also saw Me and my Girl which we quite liked. Funnilt enough we were not all that impressed with Phantom which everyone raved over. starlight express doesn't appeal, quite noisy I think. I would like to see Miss Saigon.

Yes, craig the runner up is doing Joseph in the Provinces and according to a friend who saw him he is excellent.

saw Starlight Express at the Millenium Centre in Cardiff - did not like it much and had never heard before any of the songs - absolutely love musicals though - film or stage. Seen all the film musicals over and over again - South Pacific, Oklahoma, Carousel, Singing in the Rain, Seven Brides - on and on! Saw Jesus Christ Superstar in London when it came out but didn't care for it much.

Ann, Jesus Christ Superstar was the first 'West End' Musical I saw...my brother took me when it first came out...knew all the music as the LP was issued first...absolutely loved it...and remember not speaking much afterwards just so enthralled by the experience of it lol
