Hope all is well for you.
I was in Australia nearly 5 yrs ago. I had seen the results a fire can do.

We travelled around a fair bit but I think it was Canberra we were in at the time and I was amazed at how some houses in same street were ok yet others were badly burnt etc.

Burnt washing still on the line,burnt out cars in the drive etc

Lots of kangaroos were around as they were looking for food.
We had seen it on tv etc but it was so sad to see it for ourselves.

My thoughts are with you and your neighbours........

your concerns are multiplied also because of the animals so you have twice a burden to carry.

Know how you feel about your animals, my daughter has horses and has put them before her needs at times, she says they need protection just as children do.....

Will be keeping my fingers crossed that the fires can be stopped asap..... which is a lot to ask with the temperatures you are experiencing...

My son lives in Brisbane and it is getting too hot for him, only moved out there three years ago..................
