"Wally" refers to china/porcelain. Apparently, in Scotland, "wallies" is also slang for "false teeth" (which were also made of porcelain at one time). So, at a guess, I'd say that "wally dug" is probably Scottish slang/vernacular for "china dog" (wally dog/dug). |
