ive been to visit mum and have just read your replies lol

i had never heard of vinegar or tea ttree iol,i will try them now though lol.

your replies have made me chuckle lol

i never had them as a child either so this is all new to me.
my daughter had kept them off school for over a week when they 1st got them and within a day of being back they had the darn things again!!!
some parents dont bother to treat them but its costing my daughter a fortune on lotions.
the dr did give her the 1st lot on prescription but then said she had to buy the next lot

oh well i will try anything to get rid of them, nasty things lol

Sharing is caring.Your grandkids love you.Be careful if you use tea tree oil. Some people are allergic to it.My daughter used to do grandaughters hair in tea tree oil years ago when she was young.I ran out of shampoo so used her shampoo.OMG it stung like hell and i could not wash it off quick enough and made my eyes run. Our granddaughter has very thick long hair, she caught THEM on a School trip cos she had to sleep with a girl from her primary School who the teachers knew had nit problems that her Mum did nothing about.#What a nightmare trying to get rid of the little blighters . her bro caught em from her but his hair was so much thinner that you could see the blighters running around his head!! I had 40 fits i might have got em too cos they stayed over with me every Friday night and there was always many hugs .
granddaughter got em aged 9 and it took till she 17!!!! to finally see the back of EM . she just seemed to get reinfected all the time after a few weeks,
Daughter used to do the conditioner treatment every three days and nit comb it thro.I bought her the Nit Zip comb that worked up to a point but never really zapped em all. trouble is if they have laid Eggs then the cycle starts all over again,
granddaughters problem was she loved kids and got too close to frinds kids and re caught em from time to time
