Mine is a book of poetry (Longfellow) that belonged to my grandmother, she was found murdered at age 23 when my dad was only 2 years old, he carried the book with him all through WW11 and when he passed away in 1974 he left the book to me.
I keep it with a copy of the Coroners Report of her murder.

I can't really say that I have just one.

Ok, plural, my 4 children and 5 Grandchildren firstly.

Photographs.

Two paper hats, and mouth masks that my Husband wore when present at the birth of two of our children.

Two Christening robes that my Grandfather bought back from Indian 'Indian Muslin, that my Mum and then all her 5 younger siblings, me and my 6 younger siblings and at least a dozen of my 1st Cousins were Christened in.

Again Grandad, bought home from Italy, an Italian pearl necklace with long tooth shaped pearls alternating with a bead, knotted between each bead or long pearl.

Oh and the first lock of hair cut from each of my children.

First off the embroidered 'sampler' my Dad made me when he was recovering from a heart attack, saying 'Today is the first day of the rest of your Life' as saying he knew I liked.
I also have two mugs given to my great grandfathers (I think). I need to look them out and check the details as I was never sure who they were before, my Dad made sure they and some Coronation mugs, were given to me when he died. My brothers got copper jugs and stuff which are worth more, but these mugs mean more to me as I investigate our family history, and I think from memory one mug is of my paternal Greatgrandfather James' birth and one mug shows my paternal greatgrandmother's father, Joseph's date of birth.
I also have the family Bible from my mother's family altho it only goes back one generation, it is still a lovely momento and at some point I will be adding lots more info.
I also have my Mum's wedding ring, and the replacement one when her first one got too small, and her eternity ring, and a ring given her by my great aunt. I have the gold cross and chain Dad bought Mum for a wedding gift too.
My lad has some of his grandad's medals and my nephew has the others.
