Awwww that's lovely Errol xx

Eldest has inherited her artistic streak but neither look like her. She had two boys though and had a yearning for a girl. She'd have cut her right arm off for a girl. I remember when I told her I was expecting (we knew she didn't have long) she expressed a desire for a grand daughter. Said she wouldn't be disappointed with a boy but a grand daughter would be the cherry on the icing on the cake such a shame she didn't get to see them. She was only 50 when she died xx

I had a superb relationship with my MIL. She only ever asked that we spent Christmas eve night at hers the rest of the break was down to us to choose where we went.

She never took sides or interferred. In fact she told me from the start to tell her if she ever did. I did tell her once that she was getting on my wick and she laughed and gave me a cuddle.

She died 10 yrs ago yesterday. I miss her to bits. I considered her more of a friend than a MIL.

She'd have loved my girls with a passion and would've made a superb Nanny.

Sadly she died 3 yrs before my eldest was born. Though she died thinking she was going to be a Nanny ( I miscarried 4 days after she died).

I sympathise with everyone who has MIL's from hell. My mum didn't get on with hers and I've seen it from the nasty side.

I was just so lucky to have had mine for the short time I was given. Just wish I'd had the chance to know her for longer.

Sorry to go soppy. Bad time of year for me. But for every 20 bad MIL's there must be one diamond like mine out there xx
