My Mum's
Yorkshire Puddings, Corned Silverside (Corned Beef), Meat and Potato Pie, Cornish pasties,
Apple, Rhubarb, Blackberry or Gooseberry pie, Custard Tarts amongst a lot of other things

One thing my Mum did do wrong was overcook Vegetables
I like them on the crispy side and her's were all mushy.

I love to cook also and was taught a lot from my Mum and Grandma.
When my Grandaughter comes to stay with me I let her help me too. I don't think a lot of mothers show their children how to cook these days.
WE were also taught it in school and I don't think they do it in a lot of the schools Such a shame.

My Dad always used to say that I was a better cook than my Mum. Mind you she used to say it also. She cooked because she had to. I cook because I like it.

Regards
Jackie

Home made shepherd's pie. Mum makes them with the left over roast beef minced...some onion and fluffy mashed potato...gorgeous. when we visit we usually scrounge some for our freezer

Favourite foods from the past, your mother used to make and you can,t quite replicate the taste..

My favourite was cheese pie - which actually contained onions; bacon; and obviously cheese.

Yours?

Happy days
