Out of all of them I preferred Rhydian's voice, especially when he sang Queen and Phantom of the Opera......I felt he would fit in well on a West End stage....

Leon had a totally different style, more of a crooner like Frank Sinatra or Dean Martin.....but when it came to the sing off between him and Rhydian, I think Leon sang it much better.....

Rhydian was a bit freaky at first but I think he blossomed and seemed really nice at the end, not pretentious and I loved his voice. Personally, as a pensioner, I thought Leon was good too but didn't have the confidence and the strength of voice. I thought Rhydian did the better version of the song to be released.
We will have to wait and see what happens next, Leon might not do as well as Rhydian in the long run.

Leon was not in the same class as Rhydian voice-wise. If Leon has the X Factor..well so have I ....lol

Looking forward to Rydian getting out his first album and as for saying he is a house wives choice, what do kids today know. I love music from today going right back to the classicals. Leon is a nice lad, but has he got the will power to carry on with it all. Time will tell.

I dont usually vote ,but I felt Leon had come a long way. (Longer than Rhydian)
I dont like his style of singing, but a lot of what I heard, I thought he was really good.

Rhydian I thought was really good too, I am sure he and a lot of the others will go far.

My oh used landline, was engaged twice, then he got through. I had to try three times then got through.

I am not that keen on the song though. Should have been a real cheery xmas one :))

Pink, I have nothing against Leon and I think with the right song he could have a no. 1. I don't think the song he is recording is good for him (nor was it good for Rid). My mum liked Leon all along and he did improve and I hope he makes a good career for himself. It would be a shame for these ideas to tarnish his victory.

Scooby - Actually I too experienced problems getting through on Leon's line, so me thinks its probably that not enough lines were allocated to each number! But lets be honest I'm not complaining about not being able to get through as my man won! Simple as that really!

Everyone - Please don't let sour grapes tarnish Leon's win!! The boy may not have been your cup of tea but it doesn't make it a fix!

Rhydian was the better singer and I look forward to his album, he should have won but I doubt the younger people would have voted for him. Leon was ok but I have a sneaky feeling that there might have been something going on.
If Leon won then he had the most votes so his line would have been busier than Rids so why are they saying they could not get through to a less busy line
I think time will tell

That's ok, Kate.. I agree, I think there were faults on the phone lines, full stop..... and I think the phone companies are going to have to own up to it at some stage. It is a shame that Leon's win has been tarnished with this controversy, I think, but I genuinely wish him all the very best.

No I don't believe Rhydian should have won!

The winner was Leon and in my opinion he deserved it for having the overall X-Factor - Rhydian may have a voice but he doesn't have the X-factor as far as I am concerned!

Rhydian will have been the housewife's choice and its not housewives that make someone a star, its the kids that do!

MrDaff Report 18 Dec 2007 12:41

I didn't mean to imply that the phones were rigged in Leon's favour, Katie, that is not my style at all!!

As you also had problems phoning your votes through, then that would indicate a fault with the system.

The fact that we were getting through, but then a recorded message telling us that we would not be charged for the call indicates a fault of some sort, but not necessarily that the votes were being rigged!

We had problems getting through on our mobiles, as well.

We were actually totally unsuccessful in our attempts to vote at all, throughout the evening.

I have to say I was disappointed that Rhydian didn't win, but think that it is now irrelevent... he has been brought to the attention of the movers and shifters of the music world, and his fantastic talent will almost certainly make him a huge star in the future.

We tried all evening to phone and register our votes, but were unable to do so. We tried on both our mobiles and BT landline... We haven't complained, though. But we had some rather odd messages, that maybe we should now tell 'someone' about... we were constantly being told that we would not be charged for the call... even though it was certainly during the *call lines are open* period. So we were getting through, I think, but our calls were not registering.

Good luck Leon, although disappointed he won (I too thought Beverly or Nikki should have reached the final with Rhydian) I certainly don't begrudge him this wonderful chance.

Love

Leon had the package of looks,,,,and that maybe is what swung it for him,,I personally find the image of the Wesh guy,***freaky***,,,but his voice is in a class of its own,,he didnt need votes to further his career,,,,,,,,,

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 18 Dec 2007 11:09

seems to me that voting in these contests is following the lines of the Eurovision one - people are voting for country rather than the person - not saying that just cos I'm Welsh - Gethin out of Strictly and Rhydian out of X - quite frankly I am sure Rhydian will get right to the top regardless of the outcome of the show - talent always wins through in the end

misscharley

misscharley Report 18 Dec 2007 11:05

i think its unfair on the winner when they say there was a voting fix, aperently 80 people have complained but leon one by a few thousand votes so how wud that 80 of made a difference anyway! why cant people never accept what they watch leon won rhydian came second but really how many losers are there most of them get a record deal anyway!

According to my local radio news this morning, there was talk of a voting fix as many people trying to vote for Rhydian couldn't get through to do so.

This of course has been denied by the show

Time will tell who has the true x factor.

I remember when Steve brookstein won....he diddnt last long. I think sometimes people vote for the wrong reasons eg.cuteness....sympathy for the persons background...the list goes on and on.....
