Hi Errol, I am quite certain Tina pressed chargesagainst him on more than one occasion, although admitdly dropped a few as well but not all.

It was well documented at the time, but being back then early 70's I recall I cant say about the 60's. Tina tried to commit suiside in 1975 or 6 because of it.

Being the early 70's though it wasnt as publicly splashed across the press as it would be in this day and age and it was considered to be part of his 'Artistic' Nature.

Arn't we glad although the PC brigade go a step too far on some issues that we dont have to accept 'Artistic' behaviour in this day and age.

As they have been seperated for decades who knows if he made any attempt to change his ways but I beleive in Karma .... he will get back what he gave in life.

Oh Ike was also imprissoned for Drug and weapon offences and was only released in 1993.

It's interesting isn't it ...and casting no aspersions here...that we have differing views on people in the public eye?...witness how many supporters Michael Jackson still has.....despite higher publicity than Ike had for Tina's charges against him..

We never really know about people ...
for example two people on here who I have always liked as individuals from the way they 'debate' and put a reasoned argument,
have very different opinions of each other ...which one is right...or are they both/neither?..... LOL am I?!

Cor Rose - thats a can of worms - a M Jackson would be a very interesting debate - but you are right about the amount of supporters he has.

I like his music or did - I dont play it anymore - although think I still have Billie Jean on my Ipod as the sound is so good.

But personaly I dont think Fame or Infamy should allow his extremes to become acceptable. I have read he had an unorthodox upbringing which is to blame for his later dillusional life.

But I bet a penny to pound half the people on here will say their upbringing wasnt all that either - but we all make the best of our lives and conform to society.

I would have to agree with those that say if it were false Tina would be sued to high heaven by now.

Maybe they were two good and normal people that together made a disastrous union. Who knows?.It happens.

But if Tina had once slandered him - he'd have had his day in court - or answered with his own film. No doubt about it xx

couldn't agree more - I have to say that with regard to Michael Jackson I always felt he was terribly immature and over naive - I really don't think he is evil - always feel very sorry for him actually

I will reiterate what I said. I am purely playing devil's advocate and I think it is important to be in possession of ALL (genuine) facts.
Chris that is not what I was saying and you know that. However, I don't think any decent human can ever rejoice over another's death - whatever they have done.

Hi Errol I know you are only being devils advocate - its a great role. However, it is fact that Tina did press charges against him and there is documented evidence to support that.

Ike also agreed when her book was initally published it was factual....when the press turned on him (I expect he thought as he got away with his 'Artistic' temprement decades before and the press all knew because of the cover ups - he was shocked at the later backlash), He then retracted his statement.

Chris do not be assumptive - maybe I have been through the same situation!
Maddie thank you - I am trying to draw facts out rather than people just shout off without knowing those facts - you are one of the only people to actually check things out!

When Ike admitted it - his career dived whilst Tina's climbed.

I am leaving this thread because unfortunately whilst the bad memories are never all that far away even after many years, I am too old to cope with it.

Chris Errol is not having a pop at you. Its obviously an emotional subject for you and many others. But he is I think trying trying to acertain what is fact and what is fiction about Ike.

Chris - I truly hope I have not upset you because that is not what I wanted so apologies if that is the case
