Thanks Liz for your usual words of wisdom. I have told my daughter to take a couple of days to calm down before she makes any decisions.
As for the children he left them a note saying he would bring them back something nice..............................something nice [opy4u56-==m6m; you can see what I think of that !!
Thanks again everyone for your thoughts..........tomorrow is another day !

Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 6 Dec 2007 15:51

I feel for your daughter but she has to keep a lid on her feelings for the sake of the children, and blow when they aren't around, if they are small they won't really understand and it would be awful to spoil their Christmas by throwing him out, just make him suffer and take any old job however awful when he gets back so he can take them on a holiday later on. If he does lose his dole money by not signing on, and if he spends any money that should be for the family, then sell his things to make up for it. In fact do it anyway, to make up for him not being there. If he doesn't show any shame when he gets back, and their Christmas is spoiled through lack of money and his commitment, time to think about the relationship in the New Year and take action.
Hard not to say what you think of him in front of the children, and he may have burned his boats already with them, but even tho he hasn't acted like an adult, your daughter should try to be calm before the children so they don't get any more distressed, and let them do fun things without him around so they don't miss him too much, don't have to be expensive outings, just silly little things like making a cake for Christmas or making their own decorations, sitting up with popcorn and a dvd, on Friday or Saturday night etc.
Get your daughter some Rescue Remedy to help her through, she can take as much as she needs to stay calm(ish) and cope as best she can.
In no way am I condoning what this idiot has done, cos I would want to kill him too, but it won't do the children any good to hear too much said about him as it might make them think their parents will split up and they will worry about that and all it conveys.
Good luck to her, and you LIn, don't get yourself in a state about and make yourself worse cos they will all need you around hon.

I'd have liberally sprinkled all of his holiday clothes with itching powder.

I put my ex's clothes in a bin liner and accidentally tipped in a bottle of bleach with it.

If there was only one ticket, then he should not have gone......all go, or none at all.....

What is this man thinking of?.....does he want his family - or not -......hard to say it Lin, if mine did that, the divorce papers would be ready for his return....

Its awful for you Lin, even though the kids grow and have families of their own, you still feel, and hurt for them don't you......just be there for your daughter and grandkiddies.....x sally

Oh, Lin, so sorry to hear this, one question?
has he got spending money? and where did it come from?
I agree with all the girls have said, change the locks, but leave his clothes at his mates or a safe place, otherwise she could be breaking the law!
