Thank you Angie x

Yes Kitty Grandads are very special, I was always close to my Grandad.
I just wish I could have met my other Grandad before he sadly passed away.
Thank you for the hug.

I am so annoyed as I have been to put some flowers on my Grandads grave today and not one of his kids or his other grandkids have even bothered to go up to cemetry to take him some flowers.
It seems like I am the only member of my family who misses him.

Lisa I'm sure that is not true. They probably do miss him, but people's lives go on and sometimes they forget.

We don't visit my mothers grave as it too far away, but I remember her.

Allan's parents grave is in Ireland , so he visits... when he can.
We are quite lucky as our Mary and Rod.. friends like family..... visit the grave every time they go over to Ireland . Which is every year. they tidy if it needs it, but it is usually clean. good friends... the best, think I will keep them !! :-0)

Don't be upset Lisa.

It is nice that your children knew your dad for a few years.

The only time the rest off the family have been to my grandads grave was the day of his funeral which is a shame as some of the family live close to where he is buried.

you are welcome Deanna x

Hi Lisa,

I never knew my Dad's dad as he died when my Dad was only 7. I only have 1 memory of My Mum's Dad and that was sitting on his knee looking out of his window at a parachutist coming down in Birmingham, I must of been about 3 and a half because he died when I was 3 and 8months. My Mum's mum died when she was 5 so I didn't know her either.
So the only grandparent I knew was my Dad's mum, She came to live with us when I was 5 as she had a stroke. She looked after me and my brother while Mum and Dad were at work. She died when I was 18, I loved her to bits and felt guilty the day she died, she was 77. and was in the local hospital suffering with a leg ulcer that wouldn't heal. I had half a day off work and should of gone to see her in the afternoon, but because I was suffering with women's pains, I rang the hospital and asked them to tell Nan that I would be in to see her in the evening. I was getting ready to go and visit her when the phone rang and I answered it, when the nurse asked to speak to Dad, I knew straight away what had happenend. She had had a heart attack and they couldn't save her. I felt so guilty for years after that I hadn't gone that afternoon.

Love
Helen
