Yes Billy's Mum......we are updating the place.....hasn't been decorated for 20 years, so a facelift was called for.......trouble is it all takes money....and the 70's open tread staircase was creaking and groaning, so before it gave up the ghost we bought a new one......no creaks, no groans......no money.....lol

That was funny Lea (C), we had a filing cabinet and set of drawers arrive......I did think about having a go.....but chickened out....

I didn't use his tools, but my potato peeler was a double as a phillips screw driver, and my little veg knife has nicks out of the blade, and the other one is bent over at the tip.....and the amount of scissors I have gone through is nobody's business...

Night Billy's Mum....sleep tight....

Go for it Sally...but get proper tuition for using that nail gun! lol don't want to have to see you on 'DIY Hell' or similar programmes!

Ask your OH for a saw of your own for Christmas lol.........

Well Lea, he is busy laying a wooden floor on the upstairs landing, and dado rail and cutting shelves and skirting boards......so my little car is out in the cold while he is in the garage with his workmate and new saw.......I am busy trying to think of things that I would like to saw......hmmmm.....

......and Rose, the men came in a couple of months ago to fit new stairs and had one of those guns.....made a fabulous noise, really powerful......saw a bit in the paper where one man had said he was attacked with a nail gun.....but he had done it to himself......prat....

Trouble is I have been watching a lot of Tommy Walsh and DIY on Sky and it looks really neat, and they get all sorts having a go.....so why not me.....my daughter has her own tools and power tools.....its not fair....

Lucky you Rose, I would love to get my hands on some of the DIY tackle my OH has.....especially the new laser-guided circular saw......good bit of kit that, but he won't let me near any of it.......what I want is one of those gas powered nail guns......I could do things with that......I think maybe he gets a bit worried because I am klutzy, and he wouldn't want the publicity if I ran amok......

Rose,
(last time I bought a bottle of wine I had to try and open it without a corkscrew lol)
Reminds me of an event some years back, I had a case of Stella beer bottles and no opener, i used my teeth to open them, not a good idea , I got to the very last one then noticed that it had "Twist to open" on the lid, two finger twist, a psst and off it came!...that's us men for you...lol
